Program Overview

The Arabic Grammar Program is part of our Full-Time and Part-Time Islamic Studies track, developed for students seeking mastery in classical Arabic grammar (Nahw) to unlock deeper understanding of the Qur’an, Sunnah, and Islamic sciences.

The curriculum is centered around the timeless primer Al-Muqaddimah al-Ajurrumiyyah with commentary from Al-Tuhfa al-Saniyyah by Sheikh Muhammad Muhyi al-Din Abd al-Hamid (رحمه الله):

Building a strong foundation in Arabic sentence structure
Understanding grammatical roles (I’rab) and word endings
Applying Nahw rules to Qur’anic and Hadith texts

What We’ll Cover

The course will follow Al-Tuhfa al-Saniyyah, offering a structured and practical breakdown of Al-Ajurrumiyyah, covering:

Introduction to Nahw — Purpose of grammar, types of speech, and key concepts
I’rab (Grammatical Analysis) — Explanation of how word endings change based on role
Marfoo’, Mansoob, Majroor, and Majzoom — Understanding noun and verb cases
Types of Sentences — Nominal (ismiyyah) and verbal (fi’liyyah) sentence structures
Application & Practice — Real-life parsing of Qur’anic and Hadith examples
